Apple has released the first developer beta of iOS 27.3, bringing back the redesigned Health app, adding vertical tabs to Safari and widening what Siri AI can do inside Apple’s own apps.
The beta arrived Tuesday alongside matching 27.3 builds for iPadOS, macOS, watchOS, tvOS and visionOS, according to 9to5Mac’s rundown. Apple’s developer release notes describe the SDK for building apps against the new software. The update is still in testing, and Digital Trends reports a public release is planned later this year.
Health app returns
The redesigned Health app, previously seen in earlier iOS 27.2 betas, is back. MacRumors says it has new Insights and Longevity tabs. Insights surfaces recent data such as Activity Rings, heart rate, sleep and vitals, with Apple Intelligence offering personal guidance. Longevity tracks seven categories, including heart health, sleep, mental wellbeing, hearing and nutrition, and includes a Health Age estimate.
Business Standard adds that the Health insights are available in 11 languages and that at-home movement assessments use an iPhone camera and Apple Watch to evaluate flexibility, strength, balance and VO2 max.
Siri AI and Safari
Siri AI gains actions across Calendar, Files, Journal, Mail, Maps, Messages, Music, Notes, Photos, Reminders, Safari, Shortcuts, Weather and other apps. In Mail, it can unsubscribe users from mailing lists and undo recently sent messages. Developers can also use App Intents to bring their apps’ content and actions into Siri AI through a developer preview. Language support expands to Traditional Chinese, Vietnamese, Turkish and Norwegian.
Safari adds a vertical tabs layout and an Adaptive Dark Mode that applies a dark theme to websites lacking one, Thurrott reports. Websites can opt out, according to one early summary.

Other changes
Mashable notes updated StandBy faces, including Calendar and Weather options. Reachability comes to the iPhone Duo, Apple Fitness+ adds Gym Strength workouts, and Apple Watch gains Live Rewind and Siri Recap when paired with the beta. Basic Apple Intelligence features reach China, though Siri AI does not.

Context
The current public release, iOS 27, arrived in September. The previous beta cycle, iOS 26.5 beta 2, centred on Maps ads and messaging. Apple has also been building out AI photo editing tools for the platform, while rival Huawei has pushed HarmonyOS 7 as a direct challenge to iOS 27.
