Xi Jinping: Strengthening relations with Moscow is Beijing’s strategic choice

Strengthening and developing bilateral relations between Russia and China is a strategic choice for Beijing. Such a statement was made by Chinese President Xi Jinping on Monday during an informal meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin during his visit to Moscow.

The Chinese leader’s words are published on the official website of the PRC Foreign Ministry.

“Strengthening and developing Sino-Russian relations is China’s strategic choice, based on its own core interests and prevailing trends in the world,” Xi said.

The head of state also added that Beijing is steadily following the general path of strengthening strategic cooperation with Moscow.

On Tuesday, the main day of the Chinese leader’s state visit to the Russian capital, official talks between Xi Jinping and Putin will take place at the Grand Kremlin Palace. Before that, the Chinese president will meet Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.
