Putin: Russia will have to respond to the transfer of depleted uranium weapons to the Ukrainian armed forces

March 22, 2023

The Russian side will be obliged to react correctly if its foreign partners transfer weapons with nuclear components to Ukraine. Russian President Vladimir Putin made such a statement on Tuesday after talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping.

This is how the Russian leader commented on London’s intentions to supply depleted uranium armour-piercing shells to Kiev. According to the head of state, apparently, the Western coalition is really determined to carry out military operations with Moscow to the last Ukrainian.

“In this regard, I would like to note that if all this happens, Russia will be forced to react accordingly, bearing in mind that the collective West is already beginning to use weapons with a nuclear component,” Putin stressed.

On Tuesday, UK Deputy Defense Minister Annabel Goldie announced Britain’s said plans. She noted that the depleted uranium shells available to London are effective in hitting tanks and other military equipment.
