Emergency mode introduced in Volgograd after household gas explosion in five-storey building

On April 21, an emergency CoES meeting was held in Volgograd. It was decided to introduce an emergency regime for municipal authorities.

On Friday, April 21, an unscheduled meeting of the Commission for the Prevention and Elimination of Emergency Situations and the Guarantee of Fire Safety took place. Representatives of the regional main directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations and other emergency services gathered after a gas explosion in an apartment of a 5-storey building.

The CoES decided to introduce a state of emergency in Volgograd. According to the press service of the town hall, such a measure is necessary in order to quickly involve third-party organizations without unnecessary formalities.

The municipal administration also said that the restoration of the property of the common house in these entrances, whose access is authorized by the rescuers, will begin on Friday, April 21.

Recall that in the Krasnooktyabrsky district around 5:00 a.m. there was a gas explosion on the 2nd floor of a five-story building. According to preliminary data, an 87-year-old pensioner lived in the apartment, which was in the hospital at the time of the incident.

Earlier, The Eastern Herald in Volgograd posted photos and videos from the scene. The prosecutor’s office has opened an investigation into the incident.
