Local authorities and media representatives visited the facilities of the national Safe High-Quality Roads project, visited the Luga viaduct, as well as the Veliky Novgorod-Luga regional road, and checked the surface condition of the Utorgosh- Peredolskaya.
On Thursday, April 20, Minister Konstantin Kuranov, MP Alexei Chursinov and media representatives visited several key road facilities in the Novgorod region. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Transport of the Novgorod region.
Thus, the commission assessed the progress of ongoing repair works under the national project of high-quality safe roads on Derzhavin and Bolshaya Moskovskaya streets. These facilities are the largest in the Novgorod region and more than 200 million rubles have been allocated for their reconstruction. The inhabitants of the region themselves wondered about the restoration of the road and road network.
After that, the delegation of the Novgorod Territory visited the Luga Viaduct, the contractor of which plans to complete this fall.
In addition, the inspection participants visited the Veliky Novgorod-Luga regional road, where repair work on the remaining section of the road, which stretches for 10 km, will continue at the beginning of next month. And in order to preserve the road surface, experts installed an automatic weight and height control point.
At the end of the detour to Turskaya Gorka in the Shimsky district, the commission checked the Utorgosh-Peredolskaya road, the asphalt surface of which was renewed two years ago. But local residents note that due to heavy goods vehicles and their constant passage in this area, the roads are again “broken”.
Konstantin Kuranov noted that joint work is currently underway on this issue with the regulatory authorities to establish control over heavy goods vehicles, since systematic non-compliance with the rules limiting the permissible axial load has been noted on this road.
It should be noted that all defects identified on the road have been repaired and will be eliminated at the expense of the contractor who carried out the repair, and these checks will continue.
