MiG-31 fighter-interceptor crashed in the Murmansk region

During a training flight in Monchegorsk (Murmansk region), a two-seat MiG-31 interceptor fighter crashed. The engine caught fire in the air, and the pilots flew the plane away from the blocks, after which they ejected.

The pilots were evacuated by the emergency services, and at present they are not in danger. The incident was confirmed by the Russian Defense Ministry. According to sources, the plane crashed into a lake near the village of Rizh-Guba, 150 km from Murmansk. The pilots were found not far from the dacha village of Berezki. Previously, pilots served in the 98th Separate Mixed Air Regiment.

On the eve of the crash of a light aircraft occurred in the Volgograd region. While trying to take off from the field, the plane, unsuitable for this, crashed, the 58-year-old pilot who was at the helm died.

Another similar incident occurred in the Voronezh region in early March. The Mi-8 helicopter had to make a hard landing, while the power line was damaged. No problem.
