Reshaping Perspectives and Catalyzing Diplomatic Evolution

Dr. Molchanova described the symptoms of high cholesterol

Cardiologist Olga Molchanova said that diet and exercise help lower cholesterol levels, and in some cases medication may be required.

No symptoms indicate high cholesterol levels, said the lead researcher at the National Medical Research Center for Therapy and Preventive Medicine.

While elevated levels usually don’t cause any symptoms, Molchanova said, they can be detected with a blood test.

People aged 40 and over should have their cholesterol levels checked, especially if they have a family history of heart attacks and strokes caused by atherosclerosis. According to her, you should check the level of total cholesterol, as well as take tests for the ratio of “good” and “bad” cholesterol.

High levels of “bad” cholesterol cause deposits in the walls of blood vessels. This makes them narrower, increasing the risk of blockage, writes Gazeta.ru .
