May 22, 2023

Haller opened the scoring in the 58th minute and then added the second goal 6 minutes from time to put Dortmund ahead of Bayern Munich.

Julian Brandt completed the goals in stoppage time.

The Ruhr Valley side, who last won the title in 2012 under manager Juergen Klopp, have 70 points, two ahead of Bayern, who lost 3-1 at home to Leipzig SATURDAY.

In a one-sided first half, Dortmund hit 16 balls on goal, against a shot from Augsburg.

The post responded to an attempt by Dortmund defender Niklas Sule, before the landowner ended the game with ten players, after defender Felix Odoki was sent off in the 38th minute.

Emre Chan hit the woodwork after the break with Dortmund’s pressure continuing, which eventually paid off with Haller’s shot, which hit the post and then into the goal.

Augsburg nearly equalized but goalkeeper Gregor Koppel stepped in to save the visiting team from Ervin Cardona’s close-range attempt.

Haller, who has been out for a long time this season after battling cancer, sealed the win, before Brandt made it 3-0.

Dortmund will celebrate the title if they beat guest Mainz on Saturday, regardless of the outcome of the match between Cologne and Bayern Munich, who have dominated the title for the past 10 seasons.
