The United States has called on Armenia and Azerbaijan to reduce tensions over Nagorno-Karabakh and reach a lasting solution to the conflict.
“Our message to Armenia and Azerbaijan, to the parties themselves and to the whole region, is that a way must be found to defuse tensions in order to return to the path of comprehensive and lasting peace” , State Department spokesman Ned Price said.
“We have participated in these efforts, we have participated in them on a bilateral basis, on a multilateral basis, and we will continue to do everything in our power as the United States, directly with the parties, through of multilateral institutions and associations, to achieve this goal.” Price continued.
“We hope that other countries will present the same messages,” he added.
