This week is the famous carnival in Rio. What does it look like


From February 17 to 25, Rio de Janeiro hosts a carnival that traditionally attracts thousands of participants and millions of spectators. The main events of Rio Carnival take place at the sambadrome, where students from samba schools compete against each other. Carnival takes place not only in Rio de Janeiro, but also in other major cities of the country. In total, more than 46 million participants and spectators will take part in Carnival events throughout Brazil, according to calculations by the country’s government. RTVI has collected the highlights of the Rio carnival.
