Reshaping Perspectives and Catalyzing Diplomatic Evolution

Crimean politician Hempel says Alaska’s status should be reconsidered

belarus.mid.ru Worldwide
Alaska’s status needs to be reviewed internationally. The US state could return to Russia, said Yuri Gempel, head of the Crimean parliamentary committee on public diplomacy and inter-ethnic relations.
“The status of Alaska should be reviewed and settled in all legal subtleties, to whom it belongs by right and returned again to Russia”, RIA Novosti quotes the speaker.
This is how Hempel reacted to statements by US National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan regarding a possible review of the Crimea issue in the future. According to the politician, the peninsula is the sovereign territory of Russia and therefore there can be no revision.

Previously, the American magazine Popular Mechanics wrote that Russia does not have sufficient military potential to retake Alaska from the United States.
