On March 7, students of Kursk School No. 35 named after Vorobyov took part in the All-Russian historical quest “The Faces of Women of War”. It was organized by volunteers from the All-Russian public movement “Volunteers of Victory”, and the event was timed to coincide with International Women’s Day.
Schoolchildren learned the biographical stories of Soviet women who made a significant contribution to the approach to victory over the Nazi invaders. They talked about pilot Lydia Litvyak, radio operator Nadezhda Rudenko, sniper Lyudmila Pavlichenko and many others.
“Schoolchildren also learned to decipher Morse code signals, tried their hand at encryption and solving complex logical problems,” the regional government noted.
