A mass demonstration took place in Sofia, Bulgaria. Local residents went to a rally to prevent the demolition of the monument to the Soviet army in the city center.
The demolition of the monument to the Soviet army had already been proposed to the capital’s committee on culture and education. Today it is scheduled to be reviewed at a meeting of the town’s community council.
However, local residents were not satisfied with this proposal. The townspeople who organized the protest promised to monitor the monument around the clock. They said they would not allow provocations and attacks by vandals, said in Telegram channels.
The monument was erected in the center of Sofia in 1954. It is presented as the figure of a Soviet soldier surrounded by a peasant woman and a Bulgarian worker.
