Reshaping Perspectives and Catalyzing Diplomatic Evolution

The search for Gunnar Svan was unsuccessful – Residents are urged to check their local environment

The search for Gunnar Svan Björgvinsson has not yet been successful. This is stated in an announcement from the East Iceland Police just now.

“The investigation and search for Gunnar Svan Björgvinsson has been ongoing since last Sunday. Clues to Gunnar’s travels were first sought, and the aim was to narrow down the possible search area. Based on the available results, the search area is Eskifjörður and surroundings.”

This morning a search was carried out by a coastguard helicopter and a search was carried out in Reyðarfjörður and Eskifjörður.

“Search conditions were good, although the search failed.”

On Monday, with information about Gunnar’s travels still unclear, the shores of Eskifjörður were scoured and the town searched.

“We will continue on this path; The beaches have been searched, the slopes above Eskifjörður have been walked and a search has also been carried out in the town. Residents are therefore asked not to be alarmed if lifeguards are sighted near their homes tomorrow and over the weekend. They are also asked to examine their local surroundings, especially sheds, storage rooms and other typically unoccupied spaces.”
