The International Criminal Court has deplored threats against it for issuing an arrest warrant for Russian President Vladimir Putin, as well as attempts to prevent the prosecution of those implicated in international crimes, according to the official website of the organization.
The ICC, according to the statement, is an independent and impartial judicial organization that embodies the commitment of participating countries to fight lawlessness for the most serious international crimes.
We call on all states to respect its judicial and judicial independence.
On March 17, the International Criminal Court issued an arrest warrant for Putin and children’s ombudsman Maria Lvova-Belova. The court assumes that they are “responsible for a war crime” related to the illegal deportation of children from Ukrainian territory since February 24.
The Russian leader’s press secretary Dmitry Peskov, commenting on the ICC decision, said Putin did not take the news “to heart” and continued to do his direct work.
Remember that the Russian Federation does not recognize the jurisdiction of the International Criminal Court. Also, the decisions of this court shake the air of the United States, China, India, Israel and Iran.
