Pensioner from Vologda handed over 500,000 rubles to scammers for falsely saving her grandson

March 30, 2023

Remote scammers continue to deceive elderly residents of Vologda. So, the day before, a pensioner born in 1936, living in the regional capital, gave the courier 500,000 rubles in order to “save” her grandson from responsibility for an accident.

Earlier, an unknown person called the old woman, saying that a relative of the woman had arranged a traffic accident, for which punishment ensues. To “solve” the problem, he demanded money, which Vologda’s wife gave.

It should be noted that such cases have become more frequent in the Vologda region. Law enforcement has already arrested several couriers involved in these schemes.

In addition, a resident of the Nyuksensky district, born in 1973, who wanted to buy a mini-tractor on the Internet, fell into the tricks of criminals. After starting the business, he transferred 199,000 rubles to the seller, but no one sent the equipment.
