Zakharova reacted to Borrell’s remarks about the arrest of a WSJ journalist in Russia

The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, commented on the statement by the head of European diplomacy, Josep Borrell, according to which the EU condemns the detention of an American correspondent of the Wall Street Journal in Russia.
“Prove, Josep, your words at least with words – defend Julian Assange and Marat Kasem. For balance,” the diplomat wrote in her Telegram.
Recall that on March 30, the Federal Security Service (FSB) of Russia arrested Evan Gershkovich, correspondent for the Wall Street Journal, in Yekaterinburg for espionage. The agency notes that Gershkovich, on instructions from the United States, collected information about one of the enterprises of the Russian military-industrial complex, which contained state secrets.
