The fourth regional games “I am the winner!” were held in Arkhangelsk for children with severe cancer. More than 40 young northerners aged 7 to 18 participated in several sports. The guys played football, table tennis, chess, the program also included swimming, running and shooting.
With their desire to live, the children proved that a serious illness can be overcome and become an ordinary boy and girl again with dreams and plans for the future, with the desire to be first in everything.
The organizer of the sports games was the charity organization “Trinity”. Support was provided by the Center of the Governor of the Arkhangelsk region.
– Such beginnings unite both children and their families. I was happy to participate in the preparation of memorable gifts to present to the participants and the champions of the competition. The key tasks of the games are children’s communication, their involvement in active actions, the restoration of certain skills. After treatment, which is accompanied by a sufficiently long stay in the hospital, rehabilitation is necessary, not only medically but also socially. A very important public initiative that must be supported in the future, so that after these games there will be other launches of the project “I am the winner!”, – said State Duma deputy Alexander Spiridonov state of the Arkhangelsk region.
