Ukrainian plane crashed in Bryansk region, pilot detained

In the Bryansk region, a Ukrainian light aircraft crashed, the pilot was arrested. This is reported by the border service of the FSB, transmits RIA News.

As reported in the department, the plane crashed near the village of Butovsk in the Klintsovsky district, near the border with the Chernihiv region of Ukraine. The reasons why the plane crashed have not been established, the FSB added.

After the accident, the pilot tried to escape to Ukrainian territory, but was stopped by Russian border guards, according to the report. The special service has initiated proceedings “in connection with the violator of the state border”, writes RIA Novosti.

Mash telegram channel published photograph, allegedly of the pilot of the downed plane. The photo shows how he is apparently wanted by security forces.

The Bryansk region borders Ukraine. Since the start of the Russian-Ukrainian military conflict, the region has repeatedly come under fire and the yellow level of terrorist danger is in effect.

In early March, fighters from the Russian Volunteer Corps (RDK), which fights alongside the Armed Forces of Ukraine, also entered the villages in the region of Bryansk, Sushany and Lyubechane. According to official figures, a local resident died as a result of the incident and a ten-year-old boy was also injured. The RDK denied attacking civilians.
