Reshaping Perspectives and Catalyzing Diplomatic Evolution

Chinese Ambassador to Russia: West in no position to instruct China on Ukraine

Western countries are unable to instruct China on how to handle the situation in Ukraine. This was stated by Chinese Ambassador to Russia Zhang Hanhui. He noted that his country is in favor of a diplomatic solution to the conflict.

“The West is not in a position to give instructions to China, and even more so does not have the power to shift the blame onto it,” the diplomat said in an interview with Izvestia.

Zhang Hanhui noted that China does not have its own interests in the Ukrainian issue. The country does not add fuel to the fire to obtain any advantage.

Recall, on the eve of Chinese President Xi Jinping said that the world community should resume peace talks to resolve the conflict. He said this after talks with French President Emmanuel Macron.

The Chinese leader added that in accordance with the purposes and principles of the UN Charter, the legitimate security interests of all parties must be taken into account.
