The Russian Cup in cross-country skiing will be held on the territory of Tirvas in the Arctic

The VIII stage of the Russian Cup in cross-country skiing will be held in the Murmansk region. The event will take place on Sunday, April 9 in Kirovsk at the Tirvas ski complex.

The start of this stage of the Russian Cup at 11:00 a.m. will be given by the Minister of Sports of the Russian Federation Oleg Matytsin. Andrey Chibis, governor of the Murmansk region, will also speak at the opening ceremony of the contest. The event was announced on the official portal of the Kola Arctic Government.

The closing ceremony of the stage will take place on April 9 at 15:00 in the central square of Kirovsk. It will also be carried out by the two officials mentioned above.


Residents and guests of the Murmansk region of different ages will participate in ski races. All participants have the chance to show their abilities and lead the Cup.

Earlier, The Eastern Herald in Murmansk said that the Kandalaksha – Polyarnye Zori large-scale ski marathon will be held in the Murmansk region.
