The Qatar Association of Certified Public Accountants celebrated the seventeenth anniversary of its founding, in the context of advancing the accounting and auditing sector and preparing qualified cadres with a high degree of creativity and excellence to meet the needs of all ministries, institutions and agencies.
Dr. Hashim Al-Sayed, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Qatar Association of Certified Public Accountants, said during his speech at the celebration organized by the association yesterday evening, that this celebration embodies a process of building and continuous work, in which all members of the profession contributed with determination and determination to succeed, and keep pace with the modern renaissance experienced by the State of Qatar in Under its wise leadership, which believes that investing in the human element is the greatest investment.
He added that the seventeenth anniversary of the founding of the Qatar Association of Certified Public Accountants brings to mind many years full of giving and achievements, during which the association was able to take a prominent and prominent place in society, and among civil society organizations, and was able to gain the trust, credibility and respect of everyone who dealt with it, and worked without Tired or bored over the past years, placing before it its lofty mission in advancing the accounting and auditing sector and preparing qualified cadres with a high degree of creativity and excellence that meet the needs of all ministries, institutions and agencies, and it stems from its firm conviction that the human being is the engine and the main driver of the development process, and that he is the means and goal of development .
He pointed out that the past year was a historic year full of achievements, in which the State of Qatar was able to achieve strong achievements, thanks to God and the vision and directives of its wise leadership, as it witnessed a comprehensive development boom in various sectors, the most prominent title of which is hosting the FIFA,Football,Soccer World Cup Qatar 2022, the best tournament in the history of tournaments. Which wrote a glorious history for the State of Qatar and a great legacy for future generations.
He pointed out that the association was not immune from this march, as the year 2022 was a pivotal year in terms of transformation and expansion of its programs and services. And the activities and events of the association to 10,979 beneficiaries, stressing that the association’s efforts come within the framework of its vision in support of the national economy and Qatar Vision 2030.
He noted that during the last period, the association received a number of awards and certificates of appreciation and honor from many parties, in appreciation of its efforts, the most prominent of which was the honoring of the association on the sidelines of the eighth meeting of the Committee of Their Excellencies Ministers of Social Affairs of the Gulf Cooperation Council states for the year 2022, which was held in Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. .
In the same context, he indicated that the association launched an initiative to provide tax returns to productive families and owners of home projects for free, in cooperation with several accounting firms, to audit and renew them annually to support productive families in developing their businesses, and not to incur any violations or fines.
At the local and international level, he praised the selection and assignment of the association as a civil society organization to meet with the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) Evaluation Committee and present a vision of the state’s efforts in the field of combating money laundering and terrorist financing, pointing out that the State of Qatar, in this regard, has obtained a distinguished and advanced evaluation, Emphasizing that the association plays its role in providing a vision and realistic statistics that reflect the efforts of the state in the relevant fields as a civil society organization trusted by international organizations.
He also noted that it had obtained membership in the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC) last November, after a comprehensive evaluation of its work and activities, where it was unanimously voted to accept the membership of the Association in the International Federation at its meeting held in India in the presence of representatives of international organizations and bodies, stressing that the Association will continue its course and enable it to Performing its mission to advance the accounting profession and enable them to serve the community and build a bright future.
The Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Qatar Association of Certified Public Accountants praised the support of the Ministry of Social Development and the Family, and all ministries, agencies and institutions that opened their doors for fruitful and successful cooperation with the association. He also praised the Administrative Control and Transparency Authority for inviting the association to attend and participate in the meeting with the official delegation of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime With the aim of reviewing the country’s implementation of the United Nations Convention against Corruption.
