Eight wagons loaded with coal derailed near Krasnoyarsk

April 10, 2023

Several wagons loaded with coal derailed at the Krasnoyarsk-Vostochny station on the evening of April 9. Details of the incident were reported by the West Siberian Transport Prosecutor’s Office.

“There was a derailment of 8 wagons loaded with coal without tipping over,” found the prosecution.

The supervisory authority does not yet have information on the causes of the incident. And although the cargo was not damaged during the departure of the wagons, in order to put the wagons back on the road, it was necessary to introduce changes in the schedule of movement of freight trains.

“A restriction on the movement of freight trains has been authorized,” noted the transport prosecutor’s office.

The Krasnoyarsk Transport Investigation Service is carrying out a pre-investigation check, considering the incident a possible violation of the rules for the operation of railway transport.
