They pointed out that each Poseidon torpedo had a significant yield of about two megatons. The torpedoes are also equipped with a liquid metal nuclear reactor. This combination provides an almost inexhaustible range of destruction and high torpedo speed.
Popular Mechanics writes that despite Western skepticism about the technical capabilities of the Russian Federation to create such weapons, the Russian military will soon deploy such weapons off the coast of the Pacific Ocean. This threatens all US naval bases in the Pacific.
