Electric vehicle maker Tesla announced in Shanghai on April 9 that it will increase its investment and build a new energy storage super factory in Shanghai. The construction of this super factory will start in the third quarter of 2023 and production will start in the second quarter of 2024.
The signing ceremony of Tesla’s new energy storage super factory was held in Shanghai on the same day. According to the information, the super factory will plan to manufacture Tesla’s ultra-large commercial energy storage battery. The initial plan is to produce 10,000 sets of commercial energy storage batteries per year, with an energy storage capacity of about 40 gigawatt hours. According to Tesla, the new energy storage super factory will help enterprises to continuously enrich energy integration solutions and optimize the global layout.
