Russian cosmonaut Pyotr Dubrov received the title of Hero of Russia. This is stated in the relevant decree of Russian President Vladimir Putin. The document was published on the official Internet portal of legal information.
“For courage and heroism demonstrated during a long-duration spaceflight on the International Space Station, to award the title of Hero of the Russian Federation to Petr Valerievich Dubrov, test cosmonaut of the Central Cosmonaut Corps of training of research and test cosmonauts Yuri Gagarin, Moscow region”, the document indicates.
Earlier, Vladimir Putin said that Russia intends to explore space, as it will contribute to the development of domestic science. According to him, space exploration will ensure the country’s security at the modern level. The head of state made such a statement at a solemn event dedicated to the day of astronautics in the Kremlin.
