FBI arrests suspect in Pentagon leak

April 13, 2023

Fox News reported, citing the FBI, that a suspect had been arrested in the United States in the leak of classified Pentagon documents, which contained an assessment of the condition of Ukrainian troops.

The FBI said in a statement that the agency was conducting authorized law enforcement activities at the suspect’s residence in North Dayton, Massachusetts.

Earlier, The New York Times wrote that the suspect is 21-year-old Jack Teixeira, who serves as a pilot in the Massachusetts Air National Guard’s 102nd Reconnaissance Wing. He was the head of the Thug Shaker Central online discussion group, where hundreds of classified military intelligence documents were uploaded.

Pentagon spokesman Patrick Ryder today said the leak was a “deliberate criminal act”.
