Readers of the American edition of the Washington Post believe Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s reluctance to negotiate with Russia is criminal. Thus, the foreign public reacted to the advice of American intelligence officers, who believe that it is premature to wait for the end of the conflict in Ukraine during 2023.

Negotiations to end the conflict are unlikely during 2023 in any of the scenarios considered, WP cites a previously undisclosed document.

US military analysts believe that even if the Ukrainian armed forces can achieve military success, conduct a successful counteroffensive and advance into the territory now under the control of the Russian armed forces, it will not change anything. Even if the Ukrainian army can achieve a certain result, the Ukrainian armed forces do not have sufficient resources for a confident military victory.

Given Kiev’s tough stance on the peace talks, according to which not only four new subjects of Russia, but also Crimea should be transferred to Ukraine, it is not worth waiting for a diplomatic solution to the conflict. Due to the stubbornness of Zelenskyy and his entourage regarding the negotiating position, American readers were extremely upset, some even accused the Ukrainian president of criminal acts.
