The Ministry of Social Development and Family is preparing to celebrate “Family Day in Qatar,” which falls on April 15 of each year. In this context, Mrs. Najat Al-Abdullah, Director of the Social Protection Department at the Ministry of Social Development and the Family, said that the celebration of the Qatari Family Day has been launched since 2011, and the Ministry of Social Development and the Family and all other ministries and society annually celebrate this day. Her Excellency stressed that the celebration of Family Day in Qatar comes within the framework of the importance of the family as the main entity in every society, noting that caring for the stability of the family and its members and strengthening family cohesion is one of the goals of the Qatar National Vision 2030. Al-Abdullah added, in an interview with Qatar TV, that the goals of national development and the plans of the state And all its policies are based on preserving the family and family cohesion and raising children in a peaceful upbringing, pointing to the Qatari constitution’s interest in the family and its inclusion of the family in more than one article of the constitution. Al-Abdullah stressed that the state’s interest in the family comes as the basic building block of the homeland. It is worth noting that Family Day is celebrated annually in Qatar to emphasize the importance of the family and its pivotal active role in the development and construction process. This year’s celebration comes amid appreciated efforts by the Ministry of Social Development and the Family within the framework of its responsibilities and competence in this aspect, which reflects the great interest of the state in community development and in the family, which is the pillar and solid nucleus of society. Ms. Reem Al-Ajmi, Director of the Social Welfare Department at the Ministry of Social Development and the Family, confirmed in statements that the great interest in the family comes from the wise leadership’s belief in the centrality of the family in building and national development.
