Rostovites hosted guests from Kuban on April 15 as part of the 24th round of the 2nd league of the Russian football championship.
Prior to this game, SKA had three straight losses. The owners needed to be rehabilitated. For that, they had every chance. “Biolog-Novokubansk” in the last rounds did not show the best game.
The hosts officially owned the initiative. But in the first half, they didn’t create anything interesting.
During the break, the Rostovites redesigned the game model a bit. And the second half started very lively. At the very beginning, at 47-1 minute, the referee awarded the guests a penalty. He was confidently converted by Mikhail Strelnik – 1:0. SKA accelerated the pace of the game and exactly 9 minutes later Valery Alshansky doubled the score – 2:0. The guests faded, and the Rostov players took their chance for the third time. In the 58th minute, Dmitry Kamenshchikov brought the score to a big score – 3:0.
After that, both teams lost interest in the game. And the most significant episode was the withdrawal from the field of the author of the first goal, Mikhail Strelnik. He received a second yellow card and left the match.
At the very end of the match, in the 90th minute, the relaxed hosts conceded a goal.
The referee’s final whistle set SKA’s victory 3:1. The Army team moved up in the standings from 10th to 8th place (out of 14 teams).
Rostov players will play the next away match against the Kuban Holding team.
