Sudan’s General Security Service has informed that the head of the country’s Transitional Sovereign Council, the Commander-in-Chief of the Republic Armed Forces, Abdel Fattah Burhan, has disbanded the Rapid Reaction Force (RRF).
“The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces has issued a decree dissolving the Rapid Reaction Force,” Sudan’s General Security Service tweeted.
Previously, the Sudanese army had refused to negotiate with the RRF. Additionally, the rebel special forces headquarters in Khartoum, as well as their RRF location in the northern city of Meroe, were attacked from the air. Earlier in the capital, rebels seized airports.
