The Sudan Doctors Committee said that the number of civilians killed and injured as a result of the clashes between the Sudanese army and the Rapid Support Forces is large, calling on all parties to open a safe path for the evacuation of the injured.
Eyewitnesses had reported earlier that violent clashes were taking place between the two sides over the Air Force Department, south of Khartoum.
A spokesman for the Sudanese Armed Forces said that the Rapid Support Forces are present in large numbers at the headquarters of the official television, while armed clashes are taking place between the army forces and the Rapid Support Forces in Al-Ghaba Street in Khartoum, in addition to areas south of the capital, according to Al-Jazeera.
The armed forces also said that they had taken control of the two Rapid Support camps in Marawi locality, as the members of the Rapid Support militia fled the neighborhoods.
Al-Jazeera correspondent reported earlier that an armed clash took place in the Sports City area, south of the capital, before it extended to other areas of the country.
