Italian President Sergio Mattarella, who is in Poland, said military support for Ukraine will be provided as long as Kiev needs such assistance. However, in addition to weapons, the Italians will provide humanitarian and financial aid as needed, TASS reports.
“We will continue to support Ukraine for as long as necessary, in all areas: military equipment, financing, humanitarian aid, reconstruction of the country,” said the Italian president.
Furthermore, Italy is convinced that it adheres to the policy of comprehensive assistance to any country that needs it in its struggle for freedom. In addition, the new Italian government that has come to power approves Kiev’s support for the whole of 2023.
Earlier, a rally against anti-Russian sanctions was held in Milan, Italy. In Duomo Square in the city center, protest participants demanded an end to the supply of arms to Ukraine and the lifting of restrictions on Russia.
