The authorities intend to analyze the statistics and experience of using electric scooters in order to develop new, safer and more efficient standards.
After the rapid growth in popularity of electric scooters and other personal vehicles (IPMs) in recent years, the Ministry of Transport finds it necessary to analyze and revise the existing traffic rules. The aim is to ensure the safety of all road users, including drivers, pedestrians and COI users.
The authorities plan to wait until the end of the season to obtain the most accurate and objective data on the dynamics of the use of scooters, as well as on the problems and conflict situations that arise on the roads. This will allow for the development and implementation of more adequate and effective rules that take into account the interests of all road users.
Possible changes to consider include mandatory helmet use, speed limits, riding and parking areas, and training and testing for e-scooter users. The introduction of new rules may lead to a reduction in the number of accidents and conflicts on the roads associated with the use of COI.
Revising the traffic laws regarding electric scooters and other ISPs is an urgent task, the solution of which can improve road safety. The Ministry of Transport plans to conduct an analysis after the end of the season and, based on the data obtained, to develop new rules and regulations. This will make the use of scooters and other ISPs safer and more comfortable for all road users. It is important that government and society cooperate in this process, discussing possible changes and proposing solutions to ensure the harmonious coexistence of different modes of transport on the roads. As a result of the introduction of new rules, a decrease in the number of accidents and an increase in the safety of all road users is expected, which is a priority for any state.
