The representative of Sudan’s armed forces, Nabil Abdullah, said that the option of a negotiated settlement of the conflict between the army and the rapid reaction forces (RRF) which opposed it was excluded, reports RT . The leadership of the country’s armed forces considers its opponents to be illegal gangs.
“A diplomatic solution is a way to settle problems between states, and we are talking about rebel gangs outside the law,” Abdullah was quoted by the news agency as saying.
On April 15, army special forces units launched military operations against the armed forces in the country’s capital, Khartoum. Several thousand victims of these clashes are believed to be mostly civilians. The reason for the clashes is the power struggle between the head of the Sovereign Transitional Council, Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, and his deputy, General Mohammed Hamdan Dagalo.
