April 29, 2023

Tanta Security Services received a report from the family of a young girl named Aya al-Shibini (18) that she was found inside her house drenched in her blood and her body had been stabbed several times, and her husband ran away from home after the presence of the victim’s family.

Police investigations have concluded that the victim was married less than 48 hours after committing the crime which occurred on Thursday evening, and that, according to the testimony of neighbors, arguments persisted between her and her husband.

Eyewitnesses reported seeing the husband covered in blood and running away from home, so police arrested him on Friday after forming a search party and sent him back to the prosecutor’s office for investigation and finding out the circumstances of the crime.

For his part, the victim bride’s uncle, lawyer Ayman al-Shibini, said the accused husband phoned the bride’s brother and asked him to introduce himself.

He added that the bride’s brother was surprised she was drenched in his blood in the bedroom and tried to take him to hospital, but she died.

He added that forensics confirmed the presence of more than 8 stab wounds in separate parts of the victim’s body, a skin wound, as well as a cut in one of his hands.

He pointed out that the accused got engaged to his niece only 8 months ago, and that they got married two days ago, and that he showed no strange symptoms, and that he does not know the reason for committing this heinous crime, but he trusts that the authorities in charge of the investigation will reveal the circumstances and that the deterrent sanction will be imposed.
