Vodka has no medicinal properties. Why strong alcohol was used and continues to be used for medical purposes, explained the general practitioner, toxicologist Alexei Vodovozov.

Medicines have appeared gradually over the last three centuries, but diseases have always existed. People were forced to treat ailments with anything, including vodka. It was mainly used as an anesthetic and antiseptic.

“But in all these roles, it works extremely poorly,” said Vodovozov.

The health benefits of vodka are a myth. The established opinion in everyday life has no scientific justification.

In infectious diseases, vodka only weakens the immune system. Sometimes there were ethanol coma and even death of patients due to alcohol consumed during the period of illness, reports Radio Sputnik .
