Ekaterina Alexandrova reached the fourth round of the Madrid tournament

In Madrid, Russian tennis player Ekaterina Alexandrova reached the fourth round of the WTA-1000 category tournament. In the third round, she defeated China’s Zheng Qingwen, who is ranked 24th in the WTA rankings. The match ended with the score of 2:1 (5:7, 6:4, 6:2).

The tennis players spent 2 hours and 32 minutes on the court. Before the start of the third set, a medical timeout was announced. Of the 13 possible break points, the Russian converted 5, obtained eight aces and committed four double faults. Qinwen, meanwhile, used three out of nine break points, converted 10 aces and committed seven double faults.

In the fourth round, Ekaterina Aleksandrova will meet the first racket in the world, the representative of Poland, Iga Swiatek.
