Reshaping Perspectives and Catalyzing Diplomatic Evolution

Qais Saeed comments on the Taraji and the Tribes match riots

Qais Saeed’s statements came during his visit to the Interior Ministry headquarters, where he met Minister Kamal al-Fiqi and a number of security officials.

He stressed that “the shortcomings that have occurred recently in obtaining certain sports interviews should not be repeated in the future”.

Tunisia’s Esperance game against Algeria’s JS Kabylie on Saturday was part of the African Champions League competitions and witnessed riots.

The second half of the match, which took place at the “Hammadi Al-Aqrabi” stadium in Rades, near Tunis, was delayed by almost 40 minutes, due to clashes between Esperance supporters and forces of security.

A fire broke out in one of the southern corners of the stadium due to the launch of fiery meteors.

Security responded by firing tear gas, causing chaos in the stands.

The match ended in a positive 1–1 draw and Esperance progressed to the semi-finals of the tournament, benefiting from their first leg win with a clean goal.

Riot during the match between Raja Casablanca and Al-Ahly of Egypt

Riots occurred simultaneously in Morocco’s Raja Casablanca match against Egypt’s Al-Ahly, and in the same role in the African Champions League.

The confrontation was preceded by rioting near the stadium and a stampede due to supporters’ dissatisfaction with their inability to enter the stadium, which resulted in the death of a 29-year-old woman.

The Moroccan sports hopeful did not invest the workers of the land and the public to achieve the “Remontada”, so that his Egyptian guest Al-Ahly qualified for the semi-finals.

Al-Ahly qualified for the semi-finals of the tournament after a goalless draw in the game, noting that they beat the Moroccan team 2-0 in the first leg.

Tunisian Esperance will face Egypt’s Al-Ahly in the semi-finals of the tournament.
