A wide range of research has shown that male psychopaths tend to be more destructive, unstable, and promiscuous than female psychopaths.

Scientists have suggested that the edentulous fasciculus, a pathway between the temporal and frontal lobes traditionally thought to be part of the limbic system, may play a role in psychopathy.

The amygdala plays a role in emotional responses and the ability to understand and interpret the emotions of others. Previous research has shown that psychopathic males have weaker neuronal bundles than non-psychopathic males.

This study included 254 adult female prisoners. All participants underwent a psychopathy assessment, as well as brain scans on MRI machines.

The researchers found that people with psychopath-like lifestyles and behaviors had reduced connectivity in two regions of the white matter of the brain.
