Reshaping Perspectives and Catalyzing Diplomatic Evolution

Bayraktar drone shot down over Maidan in central Kyiv

On the evening of 4 May, reports were received from Kiev that a series of explosions had been heard and an air raid alert had been issued. Above the Ukrainian capital there was a “shooter” of “zushki” and “holes” in the sky of “flying mopeds”.

The local KGVA on duty reported that “air defense systems work on a drone.” Then there was information that a large drone had been shot down. Drones were indeed seen in the sky above the city center, the air defense tried to shoot them down, the cannonade did not stop for more than 20 minutes.

Mayor of Kiev Vitali Klitschko wrote on his blog that a fire broke out in the Solomensky district of the capital due to falling debris from UAVs and all necessary services are sent there. He promised to reveal the details later.

At the same time, images of a drone shot down over the Maidan in central Kyiv appeared on the web. Therefore, obviously more than one drone flew to Kiev. Audiences close to the war began to write that it is possible that the Russians in particular trolled the Ukrainians for their recent “joke” on their part in Moscow. But then a kind of attraction began, turning into shame.

It turned out that the nervous operators of the air defense systems of the Ukrainian capital, firing anywhere, also shot down a Bayraktar TB2 drone belonging to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. It was destroyed by “friendly fire”, but what it was doing over Kyiv is unclear.

In addition, he was shot down by an anti-aircraft guided missile. The people of Kyiv hope that the Ukrainian Air Force will enlighten the public about this. Some don’t know where they’re flying, while others don’t know where they’re shooting.
