Pushilin signed a decree on renaming Donetsk to Stalino for 3 days a year

Acting Head of the Donetsk People’s Republic Denis Pushilin signed a decree on renaming the capital of the region.

According to the document, Donetsk will be renamed Stalino three times a year – the city was known under this name from 1929 to 1961. “Moscow’s comsomolets” .

The renaming dates are on Victory Day on May 09, on the Day of Memory and Sorrow on June 22, and on September 8 – on the Day of the Liberation of Donbass from Nazi invaders.

By the way, the current name – Donetsk – the city has been bearing since 1961, from 1924 to 1929 the settlement was called Stalin, until 1924 the city was called Yuzovka.
