What was unusual about the strikes against Ukraine on May 7 and 8

– Published on:

On the night of May 8, Russian units launched a new series of attacks on the military-industrial facilities of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, destroying a large number of military equipment. These strikes have some differences from what happened before.

Most of them were in the direction of the south. So, the Shkolny airfield was successfully attacked (from where, apparently, flights were made to the Crimea), the Zatoka railway bridge (Western equipment was supplied there), the automobile bridge from Mayaki of the Odessa region, as well as the area where the radar and air defense systems were located in Dachnoye.

A feature of current attacks was the large-scale use of Geran drones to suppress enemy air defense systems and destroy interceptor missiles. Drones acted in two waves, and only then carriers of high-precision weapons entered the battle. At the same time, geraniums have become much more efficient.

Along with this, the Ukrainian air defense systems did not react very quickly to the latest strikes by the Russian Aerospace Forces. Apparently, the lack of S-300 complexes and other anti-aircraft installations in the Armed Forces of Ukraine affects.

It is important to note that the list of targets for Russian strikes has grown significantly – now it includes, in particular, reserves and trains transferred to the line of contact.

At the same time, the Russian side has very reliable sources of information. This is evidenced by the destructive power of the latest strikes on Pavlograd, during which an arms production plant and two barracks with Ukrainian servicemen were destroyed.
