According to the Future Health Index report published by Philips, planned investments in artificial intelligence over the next three years are focused on increasing support for critical medical decision-making by 39% in 2023.

Other AI investments focus on increasing operational efficiencies, including automating documentation, patient scheduling, and performing routine tasks, by 37%.

As healthcare embraces new settings to reduce pressure on staff, 70% of healthcare leaders say virtual care is having a significant impact on improving patient condition or morale.

And 82% of health officials say their facilities currently offer subsidized intensive or critical care by default or plan to do so within the next three years.

Virtual care also plays a critical role in attracting and retaining talent, with 44% of young healthcare professionals indicating that new care delivery models that connect different care settings are a top priority for them when choosing where to work .

In this regard, Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Health Sciences of Beirut Arab University, Ahmed Al-Tassa said in his interview with “Sky News Arabia”:

Artificial intelligence has become available in many industries. In healthcare, artificial intelligence will reduce reliance on medical and home care workforces. However, in turn, this will provide new opportunities in the field that connects the health and technology professions, such as the analysts of this technology, who manages it, who monitors it and who develops it. Artificial intelligence in the western world may be a solution to the shortage of doctors.
