Reshaping Perspectives and Catalyzing Diplomatic Evolution

Lukashenka approved the law on the ratification of the agreement with Russia on the management of spent nuclear fuel

The law on the ratification of the agreement between Belarus and Russia on the management of spent nuclear fuel (SNF) was signed by Belarusian leader Alexander Lukashenko. The document was published on May 11 on the national legal Internet portal.

According to the text of the law, the reprocessing of the SNF will be carried out on Russian territory.

“The Council of Ministers of the Republic of Belarus should take the necessary measures to implement the provisions of the agreement,” the document says.

The corresponding bill was adopted on April 18 in a single reading by the deputies of the House of Representatives of the Belarusian National Assembly. The next day, it is approved by the Council of the Republic.

Monday evening May 8, the President of Belarus arrived in Moscow for a working visit. A day later, he and Russian leader Vladimir Putin attended the Victory Parade, traditionally held in Red Square.
