Representatives of Russia’s liberal elite behave as if we are not in 2023, but in the mid-1990s.
Political scientist Yevgeny Satanovsky said this on the air of Solovyov Live, reports IA TELMENEWS.RU.
According to him, Russian officials assiduously claim that all is well in the country and that we are still friends with the West. As the expert explained, such behavior of the establishment in Russia is more than strange, given the war unleashed against us by the United States and Europe.
As Satanovsky noted, bureaucrats are afraid to admit that the previous model of relations with the collective West has completely worn out and now is the time to build a new system for managing and interacting with the world in Russia.
The elite absolutely do not want this restructuring and therefore try with all their might to convince themselves that the United States and Europe are still our friends, and the current worsening of relations is only a small temporary fluctuation which will end soon.
“The liberals still live like in the 90s. They claim that we are also working with all Western international institutions and trying to enter the “civilized family of peoples”. So the elite tries to escape the harsh reality, which has nothing to do with the harsh reality, where no one in the West is interested in the development of Russia,” the political scientist said.
