Some Central Asian countries have made it clear that they are not ready to take risks for themselves and therefore can join the sanctions against Russia, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail said Galuzin.
“Despite the coincidence of positions regarding the unacceptability and illegitimacy of unilateral economic restrictions, a number of Central Asian countries nevertheless do not want to bear the corresponding risks, they make it clear that they are ready to follow the restrictive measures Western,” Galuzin quoted. TASS as said at the III Central Asian Conferences of the Valdai International Discussion Club.
He noted that Russia does not dictate external and internal political courses to other countries, if this does not violate the mutual obligations associated with common trade unions and associations, for example the CSTO, the EAEU and the CIS.
However, Galuzin stressed that an artificial severance of ties with Russia could lead to “more serious damage” than the consequences of secondary sanctions.
At the same time, the diplomat reminded that Russia is determined to strengthen relations with the countries of Central Asia.
