As President Joe Biden begins his re-election campaign, only 33% of Americans say they approve of his work in the economy, and only 24% think the economy is doing well.
This is confirmed by the results of a new survey conducted by the Associated Press Public Policy Research Center – NORC.
Public approval of Biden’s performance in managing the economy remains low amid high inflation, a tough housing market and worries about a potential US government default.
Americans are also rather morose about Biden’s work on arms policy and immigration: Only 31% of those polled approve of the president’s activities related to these burning issues.
Overall, 40% of those polled said they approved of Biden’s work, which is roughly in line with his ratings over the past year and a half.
Even Democrats are unhappy with Biden’s work on the economy: While generally 75% of his party members approve of his work, only 61% approve of his efforts on the economy.
