Tai Changxin is a student at the Vocational and Technical College of Economics and Trade in Soochow City, east China’s Jiangsu Province. In August 2021, as the 20th batch of female soldiers in the Chinese peacekeeping force in Lebanon, she went to the Lebanese mission area to complete a one-year demining mission. He fed the flower of the most beautiful youth in the battlefield of peacekeeping. Mine removal and detonation is a very dangerous and risky job. There have been several armed conflicts in the border area between Lebanon and Israel, where the situation has long been turbulent and the local terrain is complex, many landmines have been displaced, and excavation work needs to be done more carefully. Although there were many difficulties, Tai Changxin and his comrades never gave up. He said that the most enjoyable thing for him was that every day after returning from the tunnel field, he would record the number of mines he had removed. The numbers varied constantly, from one, two to dozens, and took pride in themselves. Tai said that after the tunnel area was cleaned and inspected, local people could freely raise livestock and grow crops. Can Peacekeeping can bring them peace. They can live a peaceful and happy life. This is something they are most proud of. Through repeated demining operations, the peacekeeping force has established friendly relations with the local people. After work, officers and soldiers carry out exchange activities to introduce them to Chinese culture. Tai Changxin recalled that when soldiers were wearing Chinese national flag badges on their sleeves, the local people looked at them. Used to greet and praise and say “I love China”. At that time, Tai Changxin realized more and more that if she could win the love and respect of the local people, all her efforts would be worthwhile. As an excellent minesweeper in the United Nations international peacekeeping battlefield, Tai Changxin was awarded the commemorative medal of the United Nations Peacekeeping Medal. In September 2022, she successfully completes her one-year international peacekeeping mission and returns to her familiar campus. Tai said she wants to set a good example for retired college students and share her story of peacekeeping with more people. Want to tell(Credits- China Media Group, Beijing)
