The CIA director will discuss with the Prime Minister of Qatar and the head of Mossad ways to free Hamas hostages

– Published on:

CIA Director William Burns meets in Warsaw on Monday with Qatari Prime Minister Muhammad bin Abderrahman al-Thani and the head of Israel’s foreign intelligence service, Mossad, David Barnea, to discuss a possible new agreement to free hostages held by Hamas in the Gaza Strip.

One of the US administration representatives reported this to Reuters. Earlier, the news site Axios, citing two American and Israeli officials, reported that the meeting would take place.

On Saturday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu appeared to confirm that new negotiations were underway for the return of hostages held by Hamas.

This comes after a knowledgeable source said that the head of Israeli intelligence met with the Prime Minister of Qatar.

Let us remember that Qatar is acting as a mediator in the negotiations.

According to the source, Mossad chief David Barnea met with al-Thani in Europe last Friday.
